Movement, the essence of life

We all live in the same world, eat, drink and dress in a relatively similar fashion. Sometimes we cry and sometimes we are jubilant, sometimes we are famished and sometimes we are satiated.
This ebb and flow is the core of life. Change and progress is the essence of our existence.
A stagnant body of water reeks of pungent smells, and repels us by its lugubrious appearance and desolate aspect.
A flowing stream enthrals us with its clear water and the refreshing sound of its waves lapping against rocks and branches.
When we see a flowing river, a laughing child or the burgeoning flower, a contagious tingling sensation accompanied by an unfathomable impulse to jump, to run and to show that we are alive, overwhelms us .
These scenes represent movement, change and variation which are key elements in achieving a fulfilling and rewarding existence.
Great accomplishment generate expectations. They push us to hold on to the status quo while hoping to accomplish, if not more, similar level of success,
That puts us in a ensnaring web of fear and doubt. Fear of not being able to replicate our previous feats, so we stop trying as a way to elude failure and to preserve and retain our hard earned success.
When we stop trying, we devolve and degenerate. Life is a treadmill, to merely keep our existing circumstances, we need to keep moving.
