humans between progress and tradition

We have lost some important values that used to anchor us to the stable family web. All kinds of novel societal and behavioral issues accompanied this manufactured schism that estranged us from our very own families, roots and values.
This might be the price that we had to pay for our new "comfort" afforded by the rapid and unrelenting development.
All this has contributed to the emergence of trends that try to counter-balance our excessive rate of uneeded development with bleak attempts at replicating the ancient, the simple and the commonplace ways of living.
Civilizations have always vacillated between two extremes, tradition and innovation, conservatism and progressivism, militarism and pacifism, or religious devotion and secularism.
The success of the "BIO products" trend, the self-sustaining lifestyle and the recycling habits, are all becoming widespread practices.
It’s a nostalgic cry towards a time where people's lives were simpler, where people worked less hours and spent more time with each other, enjoying the irreplaceable human presence, that we are craving and trying, owadays, to replace with cold devices and heartless technology.
