The decline in intelligence

The Reverse Flynn Effect refers to the decline in the average IQ scores since the late twentieth century.
Researchers noticed this trend in several developed nations, where the younger generation performed slightly worse on certain cognitive tests than their forebears.
Several explanations were offered to account for the Reverse Flynn Effect.
Many have pointed to the deteriorating educational system, which has contributed to the decline of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Another culprit was the growing reliance on digital technology, which can encourage passivity and a detached, mindless consumption of information.
The digital invasion of our homes contributed to a waning in reading  and an increased use of electronic devices.
It was also observed that improvements in nutrition and healthcare no longer appear to provide the cognitive benefits that were once expected.
The Reverse Flynn Effect doesn't affect all countries, and all classes equally.
Mitigating the effects of the Reverse Flynn Effect begins with regularly reading books, learning new skills, engaging in regular physical exercise, getting adequate sleep, having a nutritious diet, and taking part in meaningful social interactions.
