How your house layout affects your life

The size of a house can impact family relationships differently based on cultural values.
In many western societies, where individuality and personal privacy occupy a central role, larger homes often allow a higher degree of privacy and help minimize conflicts that arise from close proximity.
This imposed separation can reduce daily interactions, leading to the weakening of family bonds.
In many eastern cultures where family ties trumps individual independence, small homes strengthen relationships  through frequent interaction and regular exchanges.
Having a limited personal space is often more culturally accepted than in highly individualistic societies.
Multi-generational households, shared bedrooms are common in many eastern communities, and what might be perceived as a lack of privacy in some European countries is a norm in many eastern cultures since people's definition of personal space vary widely.
House layouts can also affect the dynamics of relationships within a family.
Open layouts encourage interaction, communication, conversation and play, which are compatible with eastern cultures that prioritize close family ties.
Such layouts encourage family cohesion by facilitating cooperation and exchanges.
In western cultures that attach greater importance to privacy and personal autonomy, the absence of private spaces may lead to frustration and a feeling of meddling and encroachment.
Homes with compartmentalized layouts separate rooms that lack communal spaces provide a high level of privacy but they substantially  hinder interaction, causing emotional frigidity that could lead to hostility and estrangement.
In societies with disintegrating family ties and individualistic values, such designs may compound isolation and the feelings of loneliness, which are the main causes of anxiety, stress and a plethora of other mental disorders
House size, layout, and design influence our communication patterns, our emotion, our mood and our interactions with people in our surroundings.
